Wow what a wedding! There's just something about a man in uniform (Jon is a helicopter pilot in the Marines) and a beautiful bride! Brenda & Jon were married Nov 10th at the Salt Lake Hardware Building but we started at the Utah State Capitol for their first look and family photos. The Capitol was a gorgeous backdrop for photos.. good thing too as it was snowing incredibly hard outside! After the Capitol, we headed to their ceremony location.. the gorgeous S.L Hardware Building where Lauren Brady and her mom/business partner Cathy Brady had transformed the space into a stunning wedding venue. Gwen and David came across my work on Snippet and Ink ( http://snippetandink.com ) and flew me out to Chicago to shoot their *gorgeous* wedding at the Newberry Library! It was a fantastic weekend and the wedding was perfect. Gwen is one *the* most stunning brides I've ever photographed! And need I mention the bridesmaids?? Sequined evening gowns that looked like they belong on the red carpet! Sheesh. With the guys in their tuxes, and the girls in their gowns, it literally felt like we were at the Oscars instead of a wedding! What a blast. Oh and the weather had been forecast for rain on their wedding day, but the clouds parted just in time! Sweet. And the Newberry Library in Chicago.. Hello?! Amazing venue for a wedding. Just the staircase alone was incredible. Anyways.. the photos tell their story.. Enjoy!

katie+ryan wedding at squaw valley/lake tahoe

Wow! What a wedding! Katie and Ryan are die-hard skiers that live in San Francisco, but spend almost every winter weekend skiing their asses of up at Squaw Valley in Lake Tahoe, CA. The slopes are close to their hearts so they chose to have their wedding at Squaw Valley too. It was simply the absolute perfect wedding weekend. Huge dump of snow the day before, then 3 days of glorious blue skies and warm temps. We all had a great day of skiing with the bride & groom the day before the wedding and then the wedding day itself was flawless. Oh and did I mention, this group of family and friends knows how to party?(!). Well, they do. And here's the proof! I hope you enjoy the photos as much as I enjoyed being there to capture all this love ( and madness! ;)

Jorge + Herve Gay Mexico Wedding Part 1

Jorge & Herve were legally married in Mexico City and then held this fabulous ceremony and reception for their family & friends in their hometown of Merida, Mexico. Merida is in Yucatan State.. about 4 hours west of Cancun. Such an amazing event! It was held at a very old, upscale hacienda outside of Merida about 15 miles. The ceremony & reception started at 8pm and ended at 10am! (you're reading this right.. 10 AM! Mexicans know how to part-ay!). Gay weddings are still very new in Mexico (especially in Merida), so this event was a very big deal. Congratulations Jorge & Herve! Thank you for having Billy and I down to photograph your wedding! It was absolutely amazing.

Kathryn & Hans

Wow! What a fun wedding! After traveling to Mexico City earlier this year, Kathryn & Hans were totally inspired by Dia De Los Muertos (day of the dead), and styled their wedding to match! Tons of handmade decorations/props/etc combined to make this a stunning wedding ceremony and reception. Kara and Will met each other at Burning Man, live in San Francisco, but returned to Kara's hometown of Cresco, in Northern Iowa to have their wedding at a gorgeous old dairy farm. What a fantastic setting! This late autumn wedding held out in rural Iowa was spectacular..
